About Al Goldstein

I am married going on 35 years. Wife, Debra, retired in 2016 after 32 years as a Certified Nurse Midwife. I have three grown children, Josh, Megan, and Beth; all are practicing in health care settings. I have two grandchildren, Avi(5) and jake (3); not working in healthcare, at least no yet. 

I have a National Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 1990 employed in rural and under-served settings in emergency departments and urgent/primary care clinics. 


I am a Commisioned Officer in the United State Public Health Service (USPHS)l retired in January of 2015 after serving our country for 25 years. On my last tour, I was privileged to serve aboard a NOAA ship (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) in remote areas of the Pacific, caring for professional divers/scientists and crew as Medical Officer. Since retirement from the USPHS, I have worked full time, intermittently, primarily in rural emergency department and urgent care settings as a contractor. 


My hobbies include playing with my grandchildren, hiking, running, bicycling, and camping.
